| Battlefield Status |
| Battlefield Badcompany 2 Status There has been a number of things happen over the first weekend of BFBC2 here is a snapshot or two... After optimizations and restarts yesterday, we had been stable across all platforms. Unfortunately, we encountered another outage at approximately 9:30 AM PST today. - X360 was severely impacted, and the service is being restarted. It should be back online and we are monitoring closely. - PC had an outage, but the service is offline currently and the service is being restarted. It should be back online and we are monitoring closely. We will then start checking the quality of the customer experience to determine possible next steps. - PS3 appeared to have a brief outage, but has quickly recovered and the services is functioning properly at this time. All teams are actively engaged in diagnosis and remediation. We are adding additional services to alleviate load. Despite having a major infrastructure in place, the peak traffic this weekend has been huge, 400% higher than any other Battlefield's peak simultaneous users. The teams will continue to monitor the services closely. We sincerely apologize for the inconvenience and will provide further updates on the latest developments as they are relevant. And this one shows that PC Gaming aint dead (listen up Activision).. Nowadays multiplatform games tend to be dominated by console gamers. Modern Warfare 2, for example, has a relatively tiny PC-playing community. Not so for Battlefield Bad Company 2! DICE associate producer Barrie Tingle has revealed that at the moment, during the week of the game's retail release sales of the PC version are superior to both consoles, and more people are playing the PC version of the game than both the 360 and PS3 editions combined. Now that's something that may surprise a lot of people! And of course the MW2 digs are starting.... ... Posted by flatsix on Monday 08 March 2010 - 16:02:45 | Comments are Off |

| Battlefield Badcompany 2 Server Update |
| Battlefield Badcompany 2 Server Update Well, the server is up and running. I have a full understanding of the configs now and the RCON tool. The only issue is the current state of play with the EA network, it is bursting under the load of user and gameserver auth requests. They are currently on release 5 of the server and a number of punkbuster updates have been issued.you may have seen that there are 3 servers in the left column, I managed to grab two servers from my gametracker account. Then they were told to withdraw the server from their list, mine are still there so I am going to use them to develop the server setup, I think it will be about a week before the game becomes stable enough to reduce frustration. I do thing the game is worth cutting some slack though, as it has great maps. |
| Aliens Vs Predator Server |

Dedi's aren't ranked, this just stops you gaining skins) The select game server, select internet servers and browse. You will then see our server in the list it's named Old Gits Having Fun. Remember this is still in Beta so the option's are a bit limited at the moment. |

| Activision Makes Big Changes to the Call of Duty Franchise Yesturday, it was announced that Staff changes were made at Infinity Ward,A SEC filing made earlier today by Activision said a human resources investigation had been initiated into “breaches of contract and insubordination by two senior employees at Infinity Ward”.“The matter is expected to involve the departure of key personnel and litigation,” read the filing. “At present, the Company does not expect this matter to have a material impact on the Company.” A source close to G4 confirmed that Security arrived at the Infinity Ward studios where IW heads Vince Zampella and Jason West were reportedly marched out of the building. It is understood that they met with Activision this morning and have not been seen by other Infinity Ward staff members since. Jason West later updated his facebook page with: “Jason West is drinking. Also, unemployed.” No other details are available, but staff at Infinity Wards offices are left in a state of shock and confusion! | Update Time |
| Hi Guy's Sorry i have not added much to the site recently, so I thought I would give a quick update. I have been busy with various personal things over the last couple of weeks. So here goes with a bit of news, firstly I have had our BFBC2 server confirmed so as soon as i get the IP i will post it. I am excited about this myself because after playing the game for a fair few hours (enough to max out on the ranking and unlocks) I feel it will be a good game to play with a few mates. Not as pure as BF2 maybe, but it is a great balance between COD style and BF2 IMHO. Next Aliens Vs Predator, we will have a dedi for this asap, rebellion are working on them the test servers went up today http://s3b.directupload.net/images/100225/2dd78n8w.jpg and word on the street seems to be leaning towards an early march release. Then good old MW2, Teknogods seem to have stalled on the dedi front, but are still promising a release very soon. On top of this though is an increase in the rumour that their is a monster path lurking from IW that will activate official Dedi's. Maybe the fact that Counterstrike source is once again the most popular Steam game may prompt something. Also it is no longer top of the XFIRE charts, beaten by to older versions. ![]() Call of duty modern warfare is having a second coming, the competive gaming world has seen an increase in events and this is knocking on to a influx of new players to public servers. I have put a 1 on 1 ladder structure in place for MW2 over at http://www.oghfgameladders.com/ pop on and sign up if you fancy a challenge. Finally, the Clan nights I have been waiting for you guys to signup over at the XFIRE community page http://www.xfire.com/communities/oghf/ So far we have 23 sign up's from a members list of 64 I will wait a while longer and then I will startup the evenings the invites/reminders etc will be sent via XFIRE. It has the best calendar system I have found so far.. |
| Comments around Lag |
| Had a couple of comments about lag I have seen and had a couple of comments about lag on the COD5 TDM, I have checked the hardware and it all seems fine. Here is the report. So if it keeps on it must be the increase in slots, therefore is will try it out myself over the weekend and make any changes it needs. |
| BFBC2 Single player reveal |
| BFBC2 Single player reveal The single player reveal vid is out and it looks good to me, the vid content paints a picture of gameplay depth so I hope the SP campaign has a bit more length than MW2, I need a bit of private flight practice so as not to look too bad online...lol.Also the DICE sound engineers let a little snippet out on the blog, they are only using software sound, no DX hardware acceleration (no need to spend a wad on a XF-I then). What they are saying is that the sound will need some of your CPU, what is the def of some ???. When you read what they of done to the sound tech, I think that it will need a about 10% of the total game demand. So If you have some framerate issues, see if you can shut done your sound and test again before you rush off to buy a new graphics card. Because you may need a new CPU... |
