We are a friendly Clan who have been running servers since December 2008,
The main goal of the clan leader "Flatsix" was to develop a fun gaming Clan for the older
"gentleperson" where fair play and good sportsmanship prevail.

We now have over one years experience of running servers, in that time we have learn't
alot about the black and white stuff, server configs etc. Plus we have learn't the hard
way around some of the fluffy bits to do with how we manage our Clan.

Through out the year our top 4 servers have attracted over 250,000 players and they
have become the gaming home for many. We work hard to ensure that we provided
well balanced servers that have a consistant level of discipline .

To help those who use our gameservers and website to understand where we are coming
from we have produced a .pdf guide that can be downloaded here

Please read the guide and give any feedback in the guideline section of the forum.

I would like to thank all those who have helped me stay sane over the last year
with a special mention to Haggis,Baggins,Bassie,Best and of course
Dedlydynamite who allways reminds me of how bad I am at playing.

Keep having fun

Battlefield Status

Battlefield Badcompany 2 Status

There has been a number of things happen over the first weekend of BFBC2 here is a snapshot or two...

After optimizations and restarts yesterday, we had been stable across all platforms. Unfortunately, we encountered another outage at approximately 9:30 AM PST today.

- X360 was severely impacted, and the service is being restarted. It should be back online and we are monitoring closely.
- PC had an outage, but the service is offline currently and the service is being restarted. It should be back online and we are monitoring closely. We will then start checking the quality of the customer experience to determine possible next steps.
- PS3 appeared to have a brief outage, but has quickly recovered and the services is functioning properly at this time.

All teams are actively engaged in diagnosis and remediation. We are adding additional services to alleviate load. Despite having a major infrastructure in place, the peak traffic this weekend has been huge, 400% higher than any other Battlefield's peak simultaneous users. The teams will continue to monitor the services closely. We sincerely apologize for the inconvenience and will provide further updates on the latest developments as they are relevant.

And this one shows that PC Gaming aint dead (listen up Activision)..

Nowadays multiplatform games tend to be dominated by console gamers. Modern Warfare 2, for example, has a relatively tiny PC-playing community. Not so for Battlefield Bad Company 2!

DICE associate producer Barrie Tingle has revealed that at the moment, during the week of the game's retail release sales of the PC version are superior to both consoles, and more people are playing the PC version of the game than both the 360 and PS3 editions combined.

Now that's something that may surprise a lot of people!

And of course the MW2 digs are starting....

Results from Feb 2010

Results from Feb 2010

We have had another good month, loads of people having fun.
The servers had the following through put for the month of feb

Total for Call of Duty 4 = 10869 unique players

Total for Call of Duty 5 = 7617 unique players

Total for Call of Duty 1 = 2267 unique players

Total for all servers = 20763 unique players

I know that we have had a few issues with hackers and cheats, I
will continue to act on all the reports that I recieve. Please
remember that with that volume of players through the servers
we will also attract some very good players. These guys can
play in ways that sometimes can take alot of watching to understand
their style.

Below are the Images of the results screens..

Battlefield Badcompany 2 Server Update

Battlefield Badcompany 2 Server Update

Well, the server is up and running. I have a full
understanding of the configs now and the RCON tool.
The only issue is the current state of play with the EA
network, it is bursting under the load of user and gameserver
auth requests. They are currently on release 5 of the server
and a number of punkbuster updates have been issued.you may have
seen that there are 3 servers in the left column, I managed to
grab two servers from my gametracker account. Then they were
told to withdraw the server from their list, mine are still there so
I am going to use them to develop the server setup, I think it will
be about a week before the game becomes stable enough to
reduce frustration. I do thing the game is worth cutting some
slack though, as it has great maps.

Aliens Vs Predator Server

Aliens Vs Predator Server

Hi Folk's. Our AvP server is live, go into the
game and choose the Multiplay option. Then
select to play (not the ranked game. Dedi's
aren't ranked, this just stops you gaining skins)
The select game server, select internet servers and
browse. You will then see our server in the list
it's named Old Gits Having Fun.
Remember this is still in Beta so the option's
are a bit limited at the moment.

Activision Makes Big Changes to the Call of Duty Franchise

Activision Makes Big Changes to the Call of Duty Franchise

Yesturday, it was announced that Staff changes were made at Infinity Ward,A SEC filing made earlier today by Activision said a human resources investigation had been initiated into “breaches of contract and insubordination by two senior employees at Infinity Ward”.“The matter is expected to involve the departure of key personnel and litigation,” read the filing. “At present, the Company does not expect this matter to have a material impact on the Company.” A source close to G4 confirmed that Security arrived at the Infinity Ward studios where IW heads Vince Zampella and Jason West were reportedly marched out of the building.
It is understood that they met with Activision this morning and have not
been seen by other Infinity Ward staff members since. Jason West later updated
his facebook page with:
“Jason West is drinking. Also, unemployed.”
No other details are available,
but staff at Infinity Wards
offices are left in a state of shock and confusion!
And today the following was released:-

Activision Publishing Reveals New Plans for Call of Duty(R) Franchise
--Company to Establish Dedicated Business Unit to Focus on Product Excellence and Brand Expansion --Company Confirms New Call of Duty Game To Be Released in 2011 --Activision Publishing Plans to Launch Call of Duty in New Genres and Asia SANTA MONICA, Calif., March 2, 2010 /PRNewswire via COMTEX News Network/ -- Activision Publishing, Inc. (Nasdaq: ATVI) today announced new strategic plans for the Call of Duty(R) franchise, one of the best-selling video game franchises of all time. The plans include the formation of a dedicated business unit that will bring together its various new brand initiatives with focused, dedicated resources around the world. The company intends to expand the Call of Duty brand with the same focus seen in its Blizzard(R) Entertainment business unit. This will include a focus on high-margin digital online content and further the brand as the leading action entertainment franchise in new geographies, new genres and with new digital business models. "2010 will be another important year for the Call of Duty franchise," stated Mike Griffith, President and CEO of Activision Publishing. "In addition to continued catalog sales, new downloadable content from Infinity Ward and a new Call of Duty release, we are excited about the opportunity to bring the franchise to new geographies, genres and players." The company expects to release a new Call of Duty game from Treyarch this fall. In addition, Infinity Ward is in development on the first two downloadable map packs for Modern Warfare(R) 2 for release in 2010. The company is also for the first time announcing that a new game in the Call of Duty series is expected to be released in 2011 and that Sledgehammer Games, a newly formed, wholly owned studio, is in development on a Call of Duty game that will extend the franchise into the action-adventure genre. Sledgehammer is helmed by industry veterans Glen A. Schofield and Michael Condrey. Prior to joining Activision Publishing, Schofield was the Executive Producer of the award-winning game, Dead Space and Michael Condrey was the Sr. Development Director on the game. The Dead Space franchise has won more than 80 industry awards worldwide including the prestigious A.I.A.S. Action Game of the Year and two B.A.F.T.A.S. The Call of Duty business unit will be led by Philip Earl, who currently runs Activision Publishing's Asia Pacific region and previously served in senior executive positions with Procter & Gamble and Nestle. Activision Publishing veterans Steve Pearce, chief technology officer and Steve Ackrich, head of production, will lead Infinity Ward on an interim basis. Jason West and Vince Zampella are no longer with Infinity Ward. Lastly, Activision Publishing announced that the company is in discussions with a select number of partners to bring the franchise to Asia, one of the fastest growing regions for online multiplayer games in the world.

Battlefield Badcompany 2 Server
Battlefield Badcompany 2 Server

This is the ip and port for our Badcompany 2 server it is now live

Plus blowing holes in everything is bloody fantastic....never liked doors in the first place...he he he

Here is the TV ad, and remember this is a remake of Badcompany (was only on Xbox360), not Battlefield 2 so it will be a bit more gung Ho.

Update Time

Hi Guy's

Sorry i have not added much to the site recently,
so I thought I would give a quick update. I have been busy
with various personal things over the last couple of weeks.

So here goes with a bit of news, firstly I have had our BFBC2 server confirmed
so as soon as i get the IP i will post it. I am excited about this myself because
after playing the game for a fair few hours (enough to max out on the ranking and unlocks)
I feel it will be a good game to play with a few mates. Not as pure as BF2 maybe, but
it is a great balance between COD style and BF2 IMHO.

Next Aliens Vs Predator, we will have a dedi for this asap, rebellion are working on them
the test servers went up today http://s3b.directupload.net/images/100225/2dd78n8w.jpg
and word on the street seems to be leaning towards an early march release.

Then good old MW2, Teknogods seem to have stalled on the dedi front, but are still promising
a release very soon. On top of this though is an increase in the rumour that their is
a monster path lurking from IW that will activate official
Dedi's. Maybe the fact that Counterstrike source is once again
the most popular Steam game may prompt something.
Also it is no longer top of the XFIRE charts, beaten by
to older versions.

xfire.jpg

Call of duty modern warfare is having a second coming, the competive
gaming world has seen an increase in events and this is knocking on
to a influx of new players to public servers.

I have put a 1 on 1 ladder structure in place for MW2 over at
http://www.oghfgameladders.com/
pop on and sign up if you fancy a challenge.

Finally, the Clan nights I have been waiting for you guys to signup over at the XFIRE
community page http://www.xfire.com/communities/oghf/

So far we have 23 sign up's from a members list of 64
I will wait a while longer and then I will startup the evenings
the invites/reminders etc will be sent via XFIRE. It has the best
calendar system I have found so far..

Comments around Lag

Had a couple of comments about lag

I have seen and had a couple of comments about lag on the COD5 TDM,
I have checked the hardware and it all seems fine. Here
is the report. So if it keeps on it must be the increase in slots, therefore
is will try it out myself over the weekend and make any changes it needs.

BFBC2 Single player reveal
BFBC2 Single player reveal

The single player reveal vid is out and it looks good to me, the vid content paints a
picture of gameplay depth so I hope the SP campaign has a bit more length than
MW2,
I need a bit of private flight practice so as not to look too bad online...lol.
Also the
DICE sound engineers let a little snippet out on the blog, they are only
using software sound,
no DX hardware acceleration (no need to spend a wad on a XF-I then). What they are saying is
that the sound will need some of your CPU, what is the def of some ???. When you read what
they of done to the sound tech, I think that it will need a about 10% of the total game demand.
So If you have some framerate issues, see if you can shut done your sound and test again
before you rush off to buy a new graphics card. Because you may need a new CPU...
